Bill, and what meaning do Scott impeller in welded version, if they have already mastered the casting of stainless steel? In the impeller with welded blades kept his blade from the hub or above the weld when using water jets for maximum power?
konrad scott [ builder of scott water jet ] welds all the impellers that we use because most of them are a special pitch to match to the smaller engines that we use. the more popular impellers for the other water jets that he builds are cast rather then welded like our impellers. also all of the custom impellers that he makes for the racing sprint boats are also welded. i have been to his shop in new zealand and watched him make up and weld up the impellers. it is a very hard thing to do very well. most guys do not build impellers as good as scott impellers are. but he tells me that some of the impellers that im using in the 751/752 water jets he will start to cast the more popular pitch impellers
